Gage House is a 15-bed residential facility licensed to concurrently treat substance use disorders and mental health Illness. It is a voluntary treatment program for men and women aged 18 and older. Gage House offers structured treatment activities, individualized to meet the needs of each person entering the program. Individuals can expect to participate in group therapy multiple times per day with a variety of topics and activities. They will also receive regular contact with a psychiatrist and sessions with a counselor. Family participation is encouraged in weekly group and individual sessions as needed. The length of treatment depends on the needs of each person; stays vary in length from 21-90 days as determined by the clinical team. Individuals will also be assessed and linked with community providers as deemed appropriate during their treatment stay.

The Stairways Behavioral Health long-term structured residence (LTSR) setting provides a highly recovery-focused mental health treatment program. Referrals are received from a supervised setting; and treatment focuses on managing mental health symptoms, developing independent living skills and re-integration into the community.
The LTSR is a part of Erie County's continuum of care and bridges the gap between hospital and home with an extended stay lasting an average of six months. The treatment-rich environment is guided by a physician, nurses and a team of mental health professionals, mental health workers and peer specialists.

LPN MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Current licensure as Licensed Practical Nurse by State of Pennsylvania; experience working with individuals with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and/or substance abuse disorders preferred.

The Registered Nurse (RN) functions as a clinical member of a multidisciplinary team and provides recovery-oriented treatment, rehabilitation, and support services to clients enrolled in the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) program. This position is responsible for assessing the physical and mental health needs of each program participant in conjunction with the psychiatrist, which includes planning medical interventions for inclusion in the treatment plan, providing health education, making appropriate referrals to community physicians and maintaining regular contact with the provider pharmacy. Stairways Personal Care Homes are 24-hour, supervised, state-licensed facilities where persons with mental health care needs receive therapeutic support as well as recreational and social opportunities. Residents receive individualized care in safe, home-like environments, recognizing their unique mental health needs. This position is responsible for storing, ordering, administering and overseeing the self-administration of medications.
