Stairways Behavioral Health (SBH) has been serving the Erie community since 1961 by providing mental health care and addiction treatment to persons at any stage of their life. SBH provides services to more than 6,000 consumers.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for providing support and guidance to individuals struggling with addiction issues and/or co-occurring substance abuse and mental health issues. The position will provide advocacy, mentoring, and peer support in the early stages of the recovery process. This position is responsible for working with consumers in a group or individual setting to assist in the building of recovery skills and their application, recovery mentorship, building and utilizing sober support systems, and understanding of the recovery process from the peer perspective.
The incumbent will assist with the management of daily activities, monitoring the daily schedule, providing medication monitoring, and transportation. This position will work closely with the clinical team and nursing staff to ensure consistency of care. Crisis management and support is also an important function of this position.
The Gage House is a 15-bed residential facility licensed to concurrently treat substance use disorders and mental health Illness. It is a voluntary treatment program for men and women aged 18 and older. Gage House offers structured treatment activities, individualized to meet the needs of each person entering the program. Individuals can expect to participate in group therapy multiple times per day with a variety of topics and activities. They will also receive regular contact with a psychiatrist and sessions with a counselor. Family participation is encouraged in weekly group and individual sessions as needed. The length of treatment depends on the needs of each person; stays vary in length from 21-90 days as determined by the clinical team. Individuals will also be assessed and linked with community providers as deemed appropriate during their treatment stay.

Duties include: level of care assessments, intake/orientation, developing and implementing preliminary and comprehensive treatment plans, as well as providing individual and group counseling to provide clients with the opportunity to work towards treatment goals and explore recovery. Mental Health Worker - Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) program
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Mental Health Worker functions as a clinical member of the multidisciplinary team and is responsible for implementing rehabilitation and support interventions as outlined in the treatment plan for clients enrolled in the ACT program and under the clinical supervision of staff with professional degrees. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, case management, medication monitoring, assistance with the activities of daily living (ADL), crisis intervention under the clinical supervision of the Team Leader and Psychiatrist, psychosocial education, vocational support and supportive counseling, and consultation with families. The incumbent is expected to provide recovery-oriented interventions according to each client’s individual treatment plan and maintain professional relationships with other providers, both internal and external to the program. The Mental Health Worker, along with every member of the ACT team, must adhere to the fidelity standards, DPW regulations, and the policies and procedures established by the organization.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Care Specialist is responsible for the assessment, planning and coordination of services for residents of the Personal Care Home. Duties include the following: conducting resident assessments, developing and implementing comprehensive support plans, coordinating treatment and rehabilitation services as indicated, and providing supportive counseling and skills teaching based on each resident's individualized plan. The incumbent will co-facilitate multidisciplinary team meetings with the Program Supervisor or Director in order to utilize and incorporate the skills, clinical judgment and input of each member of the team when developing new or modified support plans. The incumbent will maintain a focus on mental health recovery principles and practices in the course of creating and implementing therapeutic interventions. Crisis management and resolution are also important functions of this position. Finally, the Clinical Care Specialist will establish and maintain positive and productive relationships with the clients served and their families as well as internal and external service providers.
