Stairways Personal Care Homes are 24-hour, supervised, state-licensed facilities where persons with mental health care needs receive therapeutic support as well as recreational and social opportunities.

Residents receive individualized care in safe, home-like environments, recognizing their unique mental health needs. Individuals are assisted in reaching and maintaining their maximum potential and are encouraged to develop continuing, self-sustained, independent activities in addition to those provided by the program.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Supervisor of PCH assists the PCH Director with clinical and administrative supervision of Personal Care Home operations as well as continuous improvement of programming and individual client services through innovation, effective leadership and collaboration. Administrative / supervisory duties include staff supervision and development; scheduling; monitoring of internal systems, policies and regulations; facility management; and ongoing program design. Clinical duties include conducting resident assessments, developing and implementing comprehensive support plans, coordinating treatment and rehabilitation services as indicated, and providing supportive counseling and skills teaching based on each resident's individualized plan. The incumbent will co-facilitate multidisciplinary team meetings with the Director in order to utilize and incorporate the skills, clinical judgment and input of each member of the team when developing new or modified support plans. The incumbent will emphasize recovery principles in all aspects of rehabilitation and treatment and serve as a role model for other program staff in promoting and delivering recovery-oriented services and supports. Finally, Supervisor will establish and maintain positive and productive relationships with the clients served and their families as well as internal and external service providers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Masters level degree in course of study related to the field of responsibility and at least 2 years' experience in the field; or, a Bachelors level degree in a course of study related to the field with at least 4 years of experience in that field; or, an equivalent degree of education and experience as determined by the organization.
2. Meets the qualification and training standards to be a PCH Administrator or can achieve certification within 6 months of placement.
3. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
4. Exceptional communication skills, both written & verbal, organizational skills & the ability to effectively lead a team of direct care workers.
5. Ability to work effectively with persons with mental illness and/or developmental disabilities and develop comprehensive support plans for their program participation.
6. Strong clinical skills with working knowledge of mental health system, recovery-oriented approaches and psychiatric rehabilitation principles.
7. Act 33/34 Clearance and FBI Criminal Background Check.
8. Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle during scheduled work hours.
